If you have an account with the State Bank of India, then you will receive an ATM Card linked with it. For almost all types of accounts, a card is issued.
You can use the card to make online as well as offline payments. But before you can start using the card there are two things you have to do.
The first thing is you have to activate the card. This can be done online with the help of the internet banking portal of the bank.
And the second thing is once you have activated the card. You have to generate SBI ATM PIN. And even this can be done online.
In this article, I will explain to you the second thing i.e. to generate SBI ATM PIN online. If you want to access your bank account online and make changes to it.
You have to register yourself to use the internet banking services. If you have already done it then you are good to go.
But in case if you have not done it yet. Then you can get it done within 5 minutes of time. Just visit the official website of the bank and use the “New User” link to register.
The State Bank of India, will not charge you anything to generate the ATM PIN number. Irrespective of the method you are using. (all the methods are free)
Steps to Generate SBI ATM PIN Online Using Internet Banking
Time needed: 5 minutes
You can generate or set a new 4 digits PIN number for your ATM or Debit Card Online. This can be done with the help of the ATM Card services of the internet banking portal.
- Visit the Official Website of the State Bank of India.
The first thing you have to do is open the browser that you use on your computer. And visit or open the official website of the State Bank of India.
- Click on the Login Button.
You can find a “Login” button on the homepage of SBI’s website. Click on that button to proceed to the login page.
- Enter your Username, Password, and log in to your account.
A new webpage will be opened in your browser. Now you have to enter your username and password. After that solve the image captcha and click on the “Login” button.
- Click on e-Services.
Once you have logged in to your internet banking account. You have to click on the “e-Services” option. This can be found in the top menu bar of the interface.
- Click on ATM Card Services.
You will get the list of e-Services on your screen. Among those you have to select “ATM Card Services”. This can be selected by clicking on it.
- Click on ATM PIN Generation.
Just like the previous webpage, now you will get a list of ATM Card related services. From those you have to select “ATM PIN Generation”. This is the option which will help you to generate and set a new PIN number for card.
- Select the ATM PIN Generation Mode.
There are two modes that you can use. The first one is by entering the OTP, and the second one is by entering the Profile password. Select whichever you want to proceed with. I recommend you select the OTP mode.
- Enter the OTP and Click on Submit.
If you select the OTP mode then the bank will send you an OTP to your registered mobile number. Enter that OTP and click on the “Submit” button.
- Select your Bank Account Number.
Now you have to select the bank account number to which the ATM Card is linked. All the accounts you have with SBI will be listed in front of you. Select the account and click on the “Continue” button.
- Select your ATM Card from the List.
After selecting the bank account number all your cards will be listed on your screen. Now select your card and click on the “Submit” button.
- Enter the First 2 Digits of Your Desired PIN.
The system will now ask you to enter the first 2 digits of your desired PIN number. Enter the numbers and click on the “Submit” button.
- Enter the First 2 Digits and Last 2 Digits Received via SMS.
The system will send you the last 2 digits via SMS on your registered mobile number. Now enter the full 4 digits and click on the “Submit” button.
Your new PIN will be generated instantly and you can start using your ATM card for both online and offline transactions.
Make sure that you never share your card details with anyone. And no one from the bank will ever contact you asking for your card number, PIN number, OTP, etc.
So if you ever get any calls asking for such details. Then you should not respond with the details. Doing so can put your card in danger.
If your card details have been exposed then you have two options with you.
The first and the recommended action is to change the PIN number. And the second is to block the card.
